A method for preparing a spring roll includes the steps of (a) placing an ingredient material on a dough sheet for a spring roll and tightly winding a first portion around the ingredient material; (b) loosely winding a second portion of the dough sheet on said tightly-wound first portion to thereby obtain a spring roll having a loosely-wound portion; and (c) frying the spring roll so that oil passes through a gap formed between the tightly-wound first portion and the loosely-wound second portion of the dough sheet, to thereby fry the first and the second dough sheet portions facing the gap with oil passed through the gap.
