Deposition of a redox polymer of the poly-[Me(R-Salen)] type onto a conducting substrate by electrochemical polymerization is disclosed. Said polymerization occurs at a voltage applied between the substrate and a counter-electrode, both of which are submerged into the electrolyte/ The electrolyte containins an organic solvent, compounds capable of dissolving in the solvent and forming electrochemically inactive ions at concentrations of no less than 0.01 mol/I within the range of potentials from -3.0 V to +1.5 V, and a metal complex poly- [Me(R-Salen)] dissolved at a concentration of no less than 5x10'5 mole/liter. Me is transition metal having at least two different degrees of oxidation, R is an electron-donating substituent, Salen is a residue of bis(salicylaldehyde)-ethylenediamine in Schiff' s base). Deposition of the redox occurs in the electrolyte where the cations of the compounds have a diameter larger than that of the electrolyte cations of energy storing device containing the electrode.

L'invention concerne le dépôt de polymère redox du type poly-[Me(R-Salen)] sur un substrat conducteur, par polymérisation électrochimique, à une tension appliquée entre le substrat et une contre-électrode, qui sont immergés dans l'électrolyte, lequel contient un solvant organique, des composés pouvant être dissous dans ce solvant et formant des ions électrochimiquement inactifs à des concentrations non inférieures à 0,01 mol/I dans une gamme de potentiels allant de -3 V à +1,5 V, et un complexe métallique poly-[Me(R-Salen)] dissous à une concentration non inférieure à 5x10?-5¿ mole/litre. Me est un métal de transition ayant au moins deux différents degrés d'oxydation, R est un substituant donneur d'électrons, Salen est un résidu de bis(salicylaldéhyde)-éthylènediamine dans une base de Schiff. Le dépôt intervient dans l'électrolyte sachant que les cations des composés ont un diamètre supérieur à celui des cations de l'électrolyte du dispositif accumulateur d'énergie contenant l'électrode.
