METHOD OF MOLDING GLASS ELEMENTS ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A method of molding glass elements having finished surfaces includes pressing heat-softened glass against a molding surface formed from a material consisting of a mixture of silicon carbide and carbon. A glass element prepared by this method of molding requires no further finishing operations such as conven- tional grinding or polishing in order to render the element suit- able for use. -1-
