METHOD OF PREPARING SULPHUR DIOXIDE ABSTRACT The method of preparing sulphur dioxide consists in that sulphur is melted and evaporated by bubbling oxygen through molten sulphur, and the formed vapour is oxidized with oxygen in a fluidized bed of an inert material. The concentration of the end product is up to 100 per cent by volume. The proposed method ensures the productivity of the process up to 2000 - 3400 kg per square metre of the surface of evaporation per hour, the pressure being from 1 to 35atm..
