The present invention relates to the use of irinotecan or a derivative thereof for the preparation of a pharmaceutical composition for treating colorectal cancer, cervical cancer, gastric cancer, lung cancer, malignant glioma, ovarian cancer, and pancreatic cancer in a patient having a genotype with a varient allele which comprises a polynucleotide in accordance with the present invention. Preferably, a nucleotide deletion, addition and/or substitution comprised by said polynucleotide results in a altered expression of a variant allele compared to the corresponding wild type allele or an altered activity of the polypeptide encoded by the variant allele compared to the polypeptide encoded by the corresponding wild type allele. Finally, the present invention relates to a method for selecting a suitable therapy for a subject suffering from colorectal cancer, cervical cancer, gastric cancer, lung cancer, malignant glioma, ovarian cancer, and pancreatic cancer.
La présente invention concerne l'utilisation d'irinotécane ou d'un dérivé de l'irinotécane afin de préparer une composition pharmaceutique destinée à traiter un cancer colorectal, un cancer du col de l'utérus, un cancer gastrique, un cancer des poumons, un gliome malin, un cancer des ovaires et un cancer du pancréas chez un patient qui possède un génotype présentant un allèle variant comprenant un polynucléotide selon la présente invention. De préférence, une délétion, addition et/ou substitution d'un nucléotide faisant partie dudit nucléotide entraîne l'altération de l'expression d'un allèle variant par rapport à l'allèle de type sauvage correspondant, ou l'altération de l'activité du polypeptide codé par l'allèle variant par rapport au polypeptide codé par l'allèle de type sauvage correspondant. Enfin, la présente invention se rapporte à une méthode permettant de sélectionner un traitement adéquat pour un sujet souffrant d'un cancer colorectal, d'un cancer du col de l'utérus, d'un cancer gastrique, d'un cancer des poumons, d'un gliome malin, d'un cancer des ovaires et d'un cancer du pancréas.
