Azodicarbonamide (ADA) in the form of a dry micronised powder is characterised in that the particle size distribution of said powder consists of particles whose mean diameter (d50) is equal to or less than 2 µm and of particles whose diameter in 90 % (d90) is equal to or less than 4 µm. A method for the preparation and use of agent is also disclosed.
