A milling apparatus is provided for grinding particulate material in a continuous flow process. A container is mounted on resilient pads for free movement thereon. A plurality of oscillators are mounted on the container for oscillating the container. The particulate material flows into the container through an inlet and passes through a plurality of grinding elements within the container which grind the material when they are agitated by the oscillatory motion of the container. A grate mounted at an outlet of the container restricts the grinding elements from passing while permitting the particulate material to flow through. A motor is mounted on a fixed supporting surface for driving the oscillators. A pair of telescoping drive shafts having universal joints adjacent respective ends, connects the motor to the oscillators for isolating the motor from the oscillatory motion of the oscillators. The pattern of oscillation of the container is controlled by adjusting the relative orientation between the oscillators.
