The present invention relates to mixtures which can be isolated from grains of Eugenia Jambolana Lamarck, the preparation of such mixtures, the medicaments containing said mixtures or constituents of said mixtures, and the use of these mixtures and constituents for the preparation of a medicament.

L'invention a pour objet des mélanges isolables à partir de graines d'Eugénia Jambolana Lamarck et leur préparation Elle a aussi pour objet des médicaments contenant l'un de ces mélanges, de l'oxamate de sodium ou des composés de formule (I): (voir formule I) dans laquelle soit R1 représente un atome d'hydrogène et R2 représente une chaîne de formule: -CH2-CHOH-CHOH-CH2OH (A) ou -CHOH-CHOH-CHOH-CH2OH (B) soit R1 représente une chaîne de formule (A) et R2 représente un atome d'hydrogène. L'invention a enfin pour objet l'utilisation de ces mélanges et constituants pour la préparation d'un médicament pour la prévention et le traitement du diabète.
