23443-381 ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE An aliphatic/aromatic copolyamide, suitable for a molding composition, has A) from greater than 30 to less than 100 mole % of aliphatic monomer units; and B) up to 70 mole of aromatic monomer units containing units derived from at least one member selected from the group consisting of 4,4'- bis(4-aminophenoxy)diphenyl sulfone, 4,4'-bis(3-aminophenoxy)- diphenyl sulfone, 4,4'-bis(4-aminophenoxy)benzophenone, and 4,4'-bis(3-aminophenoxy)benzophenone. The copolyamide has a higher glass transition temperature than comparable aliphatic polyamides and also has a high mechanical strength as well as a high impact strength.
