A cartridge for an electrophotographic machine having a sump for carrying an agitator rotatably mounted in the sump for engagement with a toner; an encoded device coupled to a first end of the agitator; and a torque sensitive coupling connected to a second end of the agitator which is connectable to a drive mechanism of the machine. The encoded device includes coding means representing cartridge characteristic information.

Cartouche de machine électrophotographique munie des éléments suivants : un carter conçu pour soutenir un agitateur monté par liaison articulée dans ce carter de manière à pouvoir entrer en contact avec un toner; un dispositif codé relié à la première extrémité de l'agitateur; et un raccord sensible au moment qui est relié à la deuxième extrémité de l'agitateur, lui-même relié au mécanisme d'entraînement de la machine.
