An in vitro culture and/or fertilization medium containing N-acetylcysteine amide (NAC amide) reduces or prevents oxidative stress and free radical formation that contribute to the cellular damage and eventual demise of sperm, oocytes and embryos that are cultured, fertilized and maintained in vitro. The NAC amide-containing medium composition for in vitro culture and fertilization is suitable for use in the culture of oocytes, in the culture and development of early embryos, in the preparation or culture of sperm, and in the pre- treatment of oocytes or sperm. The NAC amide-containing composition supports the growth of viable embryos until blastocyst stage.
La présente invention concerne un milieu de culture et/ou de fertilisation in vitro contenant l~amide N-acétylcystéine (amide NAC), qui réduit ou prévient le stress oxydatif et la formation de radicaux libres contribuant à l~apparition de lésions cellulaires et, à terme, à la mort du sperme, des oocytes et des embryons mis en culture, fertilisés et conservés in vitro. La composition à base du milieu contenant l~amide NAC destinée à laculture et la fertilisation in vitro peut être utilisée pour la culture d~oocytes, la culture et le développement d~embryons précoces, la préparation ou la mise en culture de sperme et le prétraitement d~oocytes ou de sperme. La composition contenant l~amide NAC favorise la croissance d~embryons viables jusqu~à l~étape de blastocyste.
