Copolymère caractérisé par le fait qu'il provient de la copolymérisation d'un mélange de monomères comprenant : au moins 30 % en poids d'au moins un acide organique carboxylique à insaturation éthylénique ; au moins 30 % en poids d'au moins un N-alkyl acrylamide dont le groupement alkyle contient de 8 à 30 atomes de carbone dans la chaîne alkyle ; et de 0 à 40 % d'au moins un monomère insaturé hydrophile ; ainsi qu'un copolymère correspondant dont les groupements carboxyliques sont totalement ou partiellement salifiés , sa préparation et son utilisation comme agent épaississant, notamment dans des compositions à teneur élevée en tensioactifs, telles que des shampooings.
