ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE This invention relates to novel racemic or optically active N-2-(2- furyl)-ethyl-amine derivatives of the formula I (I) Image and pharmaceutically acceptable acid addition salts thereof, wherein R1 and R2 are hydrogen or lower alkyl and R3 is halogeno-alkenyl of 2 or 3 carbon atoms, the halogen being chlorine or bromine or propynyl. The invention also provides for a process for the preparation of the novel compounds of formula I. The novel compounds of this invention exhibit pharmaceutical properties and in particular are capable of selective inhibition of mono amino oxidase.
