The invention refers to an optical Raman fiber amplifier (20), with an amplification fiber, wherein at least one sec-tion thereof has a ratio of Raman gain coefficient g R to Brillouin g B gain coefficient of g R/g B larger than 0.001 at the fiber operat-ing temperature and a vacuum wavelength of 1064 nm. The invention further refers to a corresponding light source, the use of a fiber and a method of amplifying light.
L'invention porte sur un amplificateur optique à fibre de Raman (20), avec une fibre d'amplification, au moins une section de celle-ci ayant un rapport de coefficient de gain de Raman g R sur un coefficient de gain de Brillouin g B de g R/g B supérieur à 0,001 à la température de fonctionnement de la fibre et une longueur d'onde dans le vide de 1 064 nm. L'invention porte également sur une source de lumière correspondante, sur l'utilisation d'une fibre et sur un procédé d'amplification de lumière.
