A method for improving the surface characteristics of Cobalt chromium alloys by plasma nitriding. By creating a glow discharge around the parts with selective gases at partial pressures a compound layer is formed at the surface beneficial for wear applications. A further benefit is an increase in the load bearing capacity of the surface as compared to standard material.
Procédé d'amélioration des caractéristiques de surface d'alliages de cobalt-chrome par nitruration au plasma. Le fait de créer une décharge luminescente autour des pièces avec des gaz sélectifs à des pressions partielles permet la formation d'une couche composée au niveau de la surface laquelle est avantageuse dans des applications d'usure. Un autre avantage réside dans l'augmentation de la capacité de résistance à la charge de la surface comparée à un matériau classique.
