A multilayer stretch wraps film having one cling surface and one noncling surface, the noncling surface capable of providing a slip property when the noncling surface is in contact with a like surface of itself with relative motion therebetween. The stretch wrap film includes a cling layer comprising a linear low density copolymer of ethylene and a minor amount of at least one alpha olefin having from 4 to 10 carbon atoms, the linear low density copolymer containing from about 3.5 to about 15 weight percent n- hexane extractibles and a noncling layer comprising a high density polyethylene, wherein the n-hexane extractibles of the linear low density copolymer are present in an amount sufficient to cause the stretch wrap film to exert a cling force when in surface- to-surface contact with itself or the noncling surface, in the substantial absence of a cling additive, when the film is used in the stretch overwrap packaging of articles.
