ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE An improved optical information recording and reproducing apparatus is disclosed which is capable of detecting recording errors simultaneously with recording function for reducing recording time. The apparatus does not require particularly high accuracy for an optical system, and thereby avoids complications in the construction and consequent large size of the optical system.
