A once daily tablet formulation for oral administration in humans for the controlled release of ciprofloxacin comprising a pharmaceutically effective amount of ciprofloxacin, from about 0.1 % to about 8.0 % of a viscolyzing agent and/or a gelling agent, about 5.0% to about 15 % of a gas generating agent, and about 3.0 % to about 15 % of a swelling agent, said percentages being w/w of the composition.

L'invention concerne une préparation se présentant sous forme de comprimé, à administrer une fois par jour par voie orale à des humains, pour la libération contrôlée de ciprofloxacine. Ladite préparation contient une dose efficace au plan pharmaceutique de ciprofloxacine, environ 0,1 à 8,0 % d'un agent de viscosité et/ou un agent gélifiant, environ 5,0 à environ 15 % d'un agent générateur de gaz et environ 3,0 à environ 15 % d'un agent gonflant, lesdits pourcentages s'entendant en poids de la préparation.
