IMPROVED OVERWRAP FILM ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A transparent, non-shrinking, overwrap film especially suited for tobacco products provides superior moisture impermeable and leak resistant sealing, as well as low shrinkage during storage, and a high transparency and gloss to enhance product appearance. These overwrap films are made from a casting having a core and at least one sealing layer, each of which comprises a polyolefin, a hydrogenated hydrocarbon resin, and wax, wherein the core layer is comprised of at least 5% more resin than each sealing layer. Preferred polyolefins are polypropylenes that are at least 95% heptane insoluble. Also described is a process for producing these films.
