T 596 FF ABSTRACT OXIMINO ETHER COMPOUNDS A herbicidal compound of the general formula Image (I) wherein R represents a hydrogen atom, or an optionally substituted alkyl or acyl group, or an alkenyl or alkynyl group or an inorganic or organic cation; R1 represents an alkyl group; R2 represents an optionally substituted alkyl or phenalkyl group or a cycloalkyl, alkenyl, haloalkenyl, alkynyl or haloalkynyl group; R3 represents a hydrogen atom or an alkyl, alkoxycarbonyl or cyano group; and either R4 represents a phenoxyphenyl group of the PS16003 general formula Image in which m represents 0-4 and Y (which may be the same or different when m exceeds 1) represents a halogen atom, and n represents 1-5 and X (which may be the same or different when n exceeds 1) represents an alkyl, alkoxy or alkylthio group; and R5 represents a hydrogen atom; or R4 represents a hydrogen or an alkyl group;and R5 represents a phenoxyphenyl group of the general formula Image in which Z represents an optionally substituted phenyl group; together with the preparation and herbicidal use thereof.
