ABSTRACT A process for facilitating the removal of oversprayed water-borne or blended water-borne/solvent based paints from the water collection system of a paint spray booth comprising adding to the water collection system one or more specific cationic polymers. Additionally, water soluble silica, clay or aluminum chloride may be may be added to improve the detackification and flocculating performance characteristics of the process.
