An easel attachment, for holding a canvas assembly having a peripheral frame defining an inside edge and with a canvas mounted on one side of said peripheral frame and a central opening on the other side, comprises a support member and a plurality of canvas assembly fasteners mounted on said support member. At least one of the canvas assembly fasteners is slidably connected to the support member and said slidable canvas assembly fastener is adjustably located along at least part of the length of said support member and securable at a set location along said adjustable length so as to enable engagement of the canvas assembly fasteners to said inside edge of the canvas assembly's peripheral frame through the central opening. Other embodiments, including easel embodiments, and methods aspects are also provided.
