FORM 24 - ABSTRACT - In using a manual torquing tool such as a screw driver to turn a threaded fastener, it is known to use the palm of the other hand to apply additional axial load in order to increase turning ability and reduce slippage and wear on both tool and fastener. In this invention, a circular curved pad is provided to the palm of the pressing hand to transmit load to the handle without direct contact between the handle and the palm, thus reducing friction and eliminating discomfort to the hand. Said invention is positioned with the convex surface towards the palm, and can be held in place by partial closure of thumb and little finger. The invention is bi-directional, as the torque tool can be rotated either clockwise or counterclockwise, and can be used in either hand. A concentric profile on the concave surface provides a centering action on the tool handle. The invention would be provided in a variety of colours common to hand tools, and would accomodate a full range of hand torque drivers for sockets and all varieties of screwdrivers.
