The present invention relates to parasitic helminth thiol specific antioxidant (TSA) larval proteins; to parasitic helminth larval TSA nucleic acid molecules, including those that encode such TSA proteins; to antibodies raised against such TSA proteins; and to compounds that inhibit parasititc helminth larval TSA activity. The present invention also includes methods to obtain such proteins, nucleic acid molecules, antibodies, and inhibitory compounds. Also included in the present invention are therapeutic compositions comprising such proteins, nucleic acid molecules, antibodies and/or inhibitory compounds as well as the use of such therapeutic compositions to protect animals from diseases caused by parasitic helminths.
La présente invention concerne des protéines larvaires antioxydantes spécifiques au thiol (TSA) d'helminthes parasitaires, des molécules d'acide nucléique de TSA larvaires d'helminthes parasitaires, y compris celles codant lesdites protéines TSA; des anticorps développés contre lesdites protéines TSA ainsi que des composés inhibant l'activité TSA larvaire d'helminthes parasitaires. La présente invention comprend également des procédés permettant d'obtenir ces protéines, molécules d'acide nucléique, anticorps et ces composés inhibiteurs. L'invention concerne également des compositions thérapeutiques comprenant ces protéines, molécules d'acide nucléique, anticorps et/ou composés inhibiteurs, ainsi que l'emploi de ces compositions thérapeutiques afin de protéger des animaux contre des maladies provoquées par les helminthes parasitaires.
