A peeling apparatus includes a frame (30), and at least one set of abrasive rollers (32a) carried by the frame to define at least one peeling chamber. Each abrasive roller includes an elongate body portion (60a) having an abrasive outer surface and may have a pair of mounting stubs (61a, 62a) permanently affixed to respective opposing ends of the elongate body portion. The elongate body portion and the pair of mounting stubs may each comprise metal, and the pair of mounting stubs may be welded to respective ends of the elongate body portion to provide the permanent fixation. The abrasive outer surface may include a plurality of knurls (75a) arranged in a pattern. Each knurl may also comprise a leading edge (76a) portion being steeper than a trailing edge portion (77a).
Cette invention se rapporte à un appareil à éplucher, qui comprend un bâti et au moins un ensemble de cylindres abrasifs soutenus par le bâti et destinés à définir au moins une chambre d'épluchage. Chaque cylindre abrasif comporte une partie corps allongée présentant une surface extérieure abrasive et peut comporter une paire d'ergots de montage fixés en permanence aux extrémité opposées respectives de la partie corps allongée. La surface extérieure abrasive peut contenir plusieurs molettes disposées dans une certaine configuration. Chaque molette peut également comprendre une partie bord d'attaque à plus forte déclivité que la partie bord de queue.
