ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A process of producing a compound of the formula: Image [I] wherein R1 is hydrogen or hydroxy, R2 is a group of the formula: -CO-CH(NH2)-CH2COR3 or -COCH2-CH(NH2)-COR3, and R3 is selected from the group consisting of hydroxy, lower alkylamino, di-lower alkylamino, lower alkoxy and hydroxy-lower alkylamino, or R3 is amino when R1 is hydroxy, is disclosed. The compound [I] and pharmaceutically acceptable salts thereof are useful as anti- microbial agents. -1-
