The present invention relates to aqueous, pigment-based ink compositions for use in ink jet printers. These compositions comprise a carrier medium, an insoluble pigment, and a polymer produced by polymerizing at least one ethylenically- unsaturated monomer with at least one glycol ester monomer. The ink compositions are characterized by their water resistance and accent marker resistance properties, while also achieving excellent print quality, jetting properties, storage stability, reliability, and dying times.
