ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE Disclosed herein is an improved pneumatic gun for forcibly inserting fixing elements, such as nails, metal staples and similar, comprising an operating piston, carrying an arm destined to fire the fixing elements, which slides in a cylinder open at one extremity towards the compressed air tank provided in the stock of the gun. The said operating piston takes its movement from a control piston located above the said open extremity which, in turn, is operated by a valve, actuated by the trigger of the gun, movable between two extreme configurations. With the gun the following is involved: limited movement of the valve between two extreme configurations; conformation of the operating piston such as to restrict its inertia and pressure losses between the cylinder and the tank; and conformation of the operating piston such as to render it impact resistant. The gun is so constructed that no torsional stress is applied to the compressed air infeed duct; it can be easily locked onto a suitable support; and, furthermore it is equipped with an efficient safety device.
