Abstract A polyarylene sulfide resin composition comprises: (A) 100 parts by weight of a polyarylene sulfide resin, (B) 0.05 to 15 parts by weight of potassium carbonate or light magnesium carbonate or a mixture of them, and (C) 0 to 400 parts by weight of an inorganic filler selected from among fibrous fillers, particulate fillers and platy fillers or a mixture of them. Any potassium carbonate is used. The light magnesium carbonate is magnesium hydroxycarbonate, different from magnesite, and can prevent contaminants from depositing on a mold and rollers, resulting in a good appearance of a molded article of the composition. The molding operation and work gets easier.
