A system for detecting and compensating for a saturation condition of a power amplifier where an error signal is produced by differencing a signal representative of or derived from a control signal for controlling the shape of the output of the power amplifier and a signal representative of or derived from the output of the power amplifier. An integrator integrates the error signal to produce a cumulative error signal. A detection circuit detects a saturation condition when the value of the cumulative error equals or exceeds a predetermined value determined during device calibration. Upon the detection of a saturation condition, a compensation circuit derives a compensation value by multiplying the value of the error signal at the time saturation is detected by a predetermined constant, and subtracts this value from the control signal. The input to the power amplifier is derived from the adjusted control signal.
L'invention concerne un système servant à détecter et à compenser un état de saturation d'un amplificateur de puissance. Dans ce système, un signal est produit par différenciation d'un signal représentant ou dérivé d'un signal de commande réglant la forme du signal de sortie de l'amplificateur de puissance, et d'un signal représentant ou dérivé du signal de sortie de l'amplificateur de puissance. Un intégrateur intègre le signal d'erreur afin de produire un signal d'erreur cumulée. Un circuit de détection détecte un état de saturation lorsque la valeur de l'erreur cumulée est égale ou supérieure à une valeur prédéterminée, définie lors de l'étalonnage du dispositif. Lors de la détection d'un état de saturation, un circuit de compensation produit une valeur de compensation en multipliant la valeur du signal d'erreur, au moment de la détection de la saturation, par une constante prédéterminée, et soustrait cette valeur du signal de commande. Le signal d'entrée de l'amplificateur de puissance est obtenu à partir du signal de commande ajusté.
