PRECIS DE LA DIVULGATION: L'invention concerne un procédé de préparation de perfluoroalcanols par hydrogénation des perfluoroacides aliphatiques correspondants, caractérisé en ce que l'on fait réagir un acide de formule: CnF2n+1COOH dans laquelle n est supérieur ou égal à 1, avec de l'hydro- gène, en présence d'un catalyseur à base de ruthénium, rhodium, irridium ou platine sous pression totale comprise entre 1 et 50 bars et en présence d'au moins un additif choisi parmi le groupe comprenant les anions halogénure et les cations métalliques des colonnes IB, IIB, IVA, VA et VB de la Classification Périodique des Eléments.
