A process for making a cylindrical component from glass in which a glass metal is conveyed to a heating zone, softened therein, softened therein and continuously worked into the shape of a component while creating a deformation are within which the softened glass metal can be plastically worked, whereby the cross-sectional geometry of the component is ascertained. In a known device for carrying out such a process, a feed device, a heating device and a drawing device are provided, whereby a glass metal is continuously conveyed to the heating device by means of the feed device, softened therein and the component is shaped from the softened glass metal by means of the drawing device while forming a deformation area. In order to provide a sample and economic process on the basis hereof which makes it possible to produce a component with slight deviation from the desired cross-sectional geometry and to provide a flexible device suitable herefor, it is proposed with respect to the process that the softener glass metal be locally heated or cooled in at least one deformation section which extends over only a part of the periphery of the deformation area, dependent on a fixed deviation of the cross- sectional geometry from a desired geometry of the component, and, with respect to the device, that heating or cooling means be provided which act locally on at least one deformation section which extends over only a part of the periphery of the deformation area.
Cette invention concerne un procédé de fabrication d'un élément cylindrique en verre selon lequel la matière première est acheminée dans une zone de chauffage, ramollie et façonnée en continu tout en créant une déformation où la matieèr première ramollie peut être ouvrée plastiquement pour fixer sa section transversale. Dans un appareil connu permettant de réaliser ce procédé, il est prévu un mécanisme d'alimentation, un dispositif de chauffage et un mécanisme de tirage qui assurent en continu l'alimentation en matière première du dispositif de chauffage, le ramollissement de la matière et son façonnage toute en réalisant une zone de déformation. Afin de réaliser un procédé simple et économique fondé sur ce qui précède et qui permet de produire un élément dont la forme s'écarte légèrement de la forme souhaitée, ainsi qu'un appareil approprié offrant la souplesse voulue, il est proposé, en ce qui concerne le procédé, de réchauffer ou de refroidir localement la matière première dans au moins une section de déformation qui s'étend seulement à une partie de la zone de déformation, en fonction d'une valeur d'écart prédéterminée par rapport à la section transversale recherchée et, en ce qui concerne l'appareil, de prévoir des moyens de chauffage ou de refroidissement à action localisée sur au moins une section de déformation qui s'étend seulement à une partie de la zone de déformation.
