A process for producing 5-fluorooxyindole, represented by the formula (3) characterized by comprising (A) a first step in which a 2-(5-fluoro-2- nitrophenyl)malonic diester represented by the general formula (1) (wherein R1 and R2 may be the same or different and each represents a group not participating in reactions) is cyclized under reduction conditions to generate a 5-fluorooxyindole-3-carboxylic ester represented by the general formula (2) (wherein R1 is the same as defined above) and (B) a second step in which the 5- fluorooxyindole-3-carboxylic ester is decarboxylated.

L'invention concerne un procédé permettant de produire un 5-fluorooxyindole, représenté par la formule (3). Ce procédé se caractérise en ce qu'il consiste: (A) en une première étape dans laquelle un 2-(5-fluoro-2-nitrophényl) malonique diester représenté par la formule générale (1), (dans laquelle R1 et R2 peuvent être identiques ou différents et chacun d'eux représente un groupe n'intervenant pas dans les réactions) est cyclisé dans des conditions de réaction permettant de produire un 5-fluorooxyindole-3-carboxylique ester représenté par la formule générale (2) (dans laquelle R1 est tel que défini plus haut); et (B) en une seconde étape dans laquelle le 5-fluorooxyindole-3-carboxylique ester est décarboxylé.
