- 28 - ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE Disclosed herein are a process for producing a porous carbon electrode substrate, comprising the steps of mixing short carbon fibers, coke particles, a binder and a pore forming agent, molding the mixture, and calcining and carbonizing the molded material, and the thus produced porous carbon electrode substrate having excellent chemical resistance, high mechanical strength, high electric and thermal conductivity, uniform pore size distribution and high gas permeability.
