A process for producing a biogas, comprising carrying out hydrogen fermentation of a subject solution containing organic matter with the use of a hydrogen fermentation microbe, in which on the basis of interrelationship between the concentration of given substrate contained in the subject solution and the rate of substrate consumption by the hydrogen fermentation microbe, the maximum allowable concentration of substrate consumable by the hydrogen fermentation microbe is determined in advance and in which in the actual hydrogen fermentation step, the concentration of substrate in the subject solution is maintained at one not higher than the maximum allowable concentration. In this biogas production process, hydrogen fermentation can be performed satisfactorily steadily without any treatment of raw material involving consumption of thermal energy such as heating or warming.

Dans ce procédé de production de biogaz, la fermentation sous hydrogène peut être effectuée avec succès de façon stable sans aucun traitement de matière brute impliquant la consommation d'énergie thermique sous forme d'un chauffage.
