A B S T R A C T A process is disclosed for producing a pharmaceutical controlled-release individual unit formulation releasing a physiologically active substance gradually which comprises mixing the physiologically active substance and a units-forming substance in an amount of at least 50% by weight based on the weight of the units, adding a release controlling agent to the mixture, and granulating the resulted mixture as well as the formulations produced through these formulations are useful in the administration of pharmaceutically active ingredients to patients in need thereof.
