PROCESS FOR REMOVING HYDROCARBONS ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE: Off-gas of internal combustion engines is freed from hydrocarbons. To this end, the hydrocarbons are reacted with oxygen-containing gas at temperatures within the range 200 and 800°C in contact with an inert carrier- supported catalyst having catalytically active copper, manganese and nickel oxides on the carrier, whereby the hydrocarbons are transformed to carbon monoxide and hydrogen.
