PRECIS DE LA DIVULGATION: Procédé de relaxation des contraintes latérales, en fin de mise en forme par compactage d'un bloc constitué d'un agrégat et d'un liant, tel que de la pâte carbonée, sur lequel on applique une contraite principale monoaxiale dans un moule rigide comportant un fond et quatre parois latérales. Selon ce procédé, en fin de compactage, on maintient, selon l'axe de compactage une contrainte résiduelle comprise entre 50 et 2000, et de préférence entre 100 et 500 kilopascals, puis on écarte de quelques millimètres au moins deux des parois latérales du moule, puis on supprime la contraite principale et on extrait le bloc moulé. La contrainte résiduelle est maintenue pendant une durée comprise entre 1 et 20 secondes après écartement des parois latérales. Et un dispositif pour la mise en oeuvre du procédé.
