2112590 9302960 PCTABScor01 The invention relates to process for the preparation of hydrogen peroxide by the anthraquinone process, in which process hydrogen or a gas containing hydrogen are used in a catalytical hydrogenation, so that hydrogen or a gas containing hydrogen, and a working solution are circulated from the top downwards through a solid catalyst layer which has been assembled from solid honeycomb parts so that the catalyst layer contains both flow passages parallel to the main flow or the reactor pipe, and flow passages perpendicular to this direction, on the walls of which flow passages a catalyzing material has been fixed, and that at the lower end of each catalyst layer there is a mixing zone, for example a statical mixer.
