A process for the production of an aryl sulfamide having formula (I), in which R1, R2 and R3 are each hydrogen, alkyl, cycloalkyl or aryl, provided that at least one of R1, R2 and R3 is aryl,which comprises reacting a compound of formula (II) where R4, R5, R6, R7, R8 and R9 are each hydrogen, alkyl or aryl, and n is 0 or 1, with an amine of the formula R2R3NH (III), in the presence of a strong base.
