The present invention relates to a process of disinfecting biological materials. In particular, the invention relates to a novel process for removing detergent and/or solvent added to biological material. This present invention provides a safe, efficient, and economical method of removing virucidal agents viz. solvent and detergent from virus inactivated pooled plasma by hydrophobic interaction chromatography.
