Disclosed is a process for the removal of an alkali from a condensation resin which is prepared by a poly-condensation of a ketone and an aldehyde in an aqueous medium in the presence of a basic alkali catalyst, which comprises exposing the resin to an electrical field in a cell demarcated by an ion-selective membrane permeable to an alkali ion and causing the alkali ion to migrate out of the resin through the membrane. By the process, use of auxiliary substances such as organic solvents may be eliminated and the alkali may be recovered in a pure form and may be recycled.

n divulgue un procédé pour éliminer un alcali d'une résine de condensation qui est préparée par polycondensation d'une cétone et d'un aldéhyde en milieu aqueux en présence d'un catalyseur alcalin basique, qui comporte l'exposition de la résine à un champ électrique dans une cellule séparée par une membrane spécifique des ions perméable à un ion alcalin qui force l'ion alcalin à migrer en dehors de la résine à travers la membrane. Par ce procédé, l'utilisation de substances auxiliaires comme les solvants organiques peut être éliminée et l'alcali peut être récupéré sous une forme pure et être recyclé.
