ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE The present invention provides a process for producing a yellow to red glaze mixture for use in glazing ceramic products which mixture is resistant to burning and contains at least one of cadmium sulphides and cadmium sulphoselenides as colour carriers, said glaze mixtures consisting essentially of 60 to 98 parts by weight of a base glaze frit, 2 to 40 parts by weight of a colour frit and 2 suspension agent, the colour frit consis- ting essentially of cadmium-, sulphur- and selenium-containing compounds in an amount from 5 to 50% by weight and 5 to 70% by weight of a base glass which is composed of at least one glass frit in which process at least one glaze-resistant compound is added to the colour frit in amounts of 25 to 95% by weight, annealing is carried out at temperatures above 850°C and the colour frit is then mixed with the base frit and the suspension agent.
