NBI-548A PRODUCTION OF FLAVORED COATING ON AN EDIBLE PRODUCT ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE An edible product (e.g., a nut, such as a roasted blanched peanut) is enrobed in a flavored coating by first applying a layer of a liquid coating comprising an aqueous solution of a water-soluble edible adhesive optionally containing flavoring. Next, a dusting of a dry powder mixture comprising flour, starch, and flavoring is applied until the product is dry to the touch. These two steps are repeated in the same sequence until the desired thickness of coating is obtained. The resulting coated product is then cooked, e.g., by frying in vegetable oil or baking.
