A technique for preventing software program execution errors is disclosed. An engineering tool has an ST language conversion module with a function for importing an ST language source program (text format) which is prepared by an ST language programming tool, a language translation function for translating the program from ST language into C language, and an export function for externally outputting the resultant C-language source program as a C language source program (text form). By letting it be an executable file at C compiler together with a logic diagram, a control device's controller having C operation environment performs a control operation. With automated execution of ST language program analysis for translation into a C language program with an error inhibition code added thereto, the ST language program function becomes executable by the control device while precluding execution errors on the controller having the C language operation environment.
