By dissipating a reverse voltage energy occurring on a pulse generation capacitor of a pulse laser apparatus through a diode connected in parallel with the pulse generation capacitor, an arc or streamer does not occur, and hence the lifetime of the main discharge electrodes is extended and a high-repetition rate oscillation becomes possible.
