The present invention relates to a tooth pivot essentially made of composite materials. Said pivot is characterized in that it is comprised of a central core (3) made of a resin matrix wherein are embedded fibres (5) which give the pivot (1) its main mechanical properties, said central core (3) being wrapped in a sheath (6) consisting of at least one layer of fibres (7) made of radio-opaque material.
