A railroad grade crossing assembly for blocking vehicle access across a railroad crossing including a gate assembly (10) connectable to a stanchion and light assembly (12). The gate assembly is movable between a generally upright position to permit vehicle access across the railroad crossing and a generally horizontal position for blocking vehicle access across the railroad crossing. The gate assembly further includes a telescopic arm assembly (16) for completely closing vehicle access to the railroad crossing. The railroad grade crossing assembly also includes a battery (150a) to power the gate and a solar panel (152) to recharge the battery. A listening device (158) is provided to detect the sound of an oncoming train and activate the gate, and a sensor (160) is provided to sense when a train has passed and thereby cause the gate to retract.
L'invention porte sur un ensemble passage à niveau destiné à bloquer l'accès à un véhicule désirant franchir la voie ferrée. Cet ensemble comprend un ensemble barrière (10) pouvant se raccorder à un ensemble panneau de signalisation (12). L'ensemble grille peut se déplacer entre une position généralement verticale permettant au véhicule de traverser le passage à niveau et une position généralement horizontale empêchant le véhicule de traverser le passage à niveau. L'ensemble barrière comprend également un ensemble bras télescopique (16) destiné à fermer totalement l'accès au passage à niveau. L'ensemble passage à niveau comprend également une batterie (150a) permettant d'exciter la barrière et un panneau solaire (152) permettant de recharger la batterie. Un dispositif d'écoute (158) permet de détecter l'arrivée d'un train et d'activer la barrière, et un capteur (160) permet de détecter si un train est passé et de déclencher le lever de la barrière.
