Abstract An assembly for configuring extrudate flow having a die assembly and an extruder switching assembly for conveniently changing the profile and extrudate material of the extrusion being manufactured. The die assembly includes a die head having a feed member passage for movably supporting a feed member in the die head, and first and second die head passages, and corresponding first and second die surfaces which are located intermediate the die surfaces and feed passage. The feed member includes a feed passage and a feed opening for supplying extrudate to the die head. Addition- ally, the feed opening has a first central axis, and the first and second die head passages have second and third central axes, respectively. The first central axis and second central axis are movable with respect to one another upon movement of the feed opening or first die head passage with respect to the other of the feed opening or first die head passage, respec- tively. The first central axis and third central axis are also movable with respect to one another upon movement of the feed opening or second die head passage with respect to the other of the feed opening or second die head passage, respec- tively. Movement of the axes correspondingly configures extrudate exiting a die head passage when the feed opening is in communication with the respective die head passage. The extruder switching assembly includes a housing and an extruder switch member having extrudate supply passages. The housing supports the extruder switch member for movement between positions in which the die assembly is supplied with extrudate material from either a first or second extruder.
