The present invention relates, first, to the identification of novel nucleic acid molecules, termed RATH genes and RATH gene products encoded by such nucleic acid molecules, or degenerate variants, thereof, that participate in the regulation, control and/or modulation of G-protein-mediated signal transduction involved in T cell activation, including, but not limited to T helper (TH) cell and TH cell subpopulation activation. Specifically, the nucleic acid molecules of the present invention include the genes corresponding to the mammalian RATH genes, including the RATH1.1 genes. Sequence analysis indicates that the RATH genes are novel genes belonging to the RGS ("<u>r</u>egulator of <u>G</u>-protein <u>s</u>ignalling") gene family, a gene family which encodes gene products involved in G-protein- mediated signal transduction.
L'invention concerne d'abord l'identification de nouvelles molécules d'acide nucléique, appelées gènes RATH et produits géniques RATH codés par lesdites molécules d'acide nucléique, ou des variants dégénérés de celles-ci, qui participent à la régulation, la commande et/ou la modulation de la transduction de signal à médiation G-protéique impliquée dans l'activation des lymphocytes T, dont, entre autres, l'activation de cellules T auxiliaires et de sous-population de cellules T auxiliaires. Plus spécifiquement, les molécules d'acide nucléique de l'invention comprennent les gènes correspondant aux gènes RATH mammaliens, dont les gènes RATH1.1. Le séquençage indique que les gènes RATH sont des gènes nouveaux appartenant à la famille de gènes RGS (régulateur de la signalisation de la protéine G), famille de gènes codant les produits géniques impliqués dans la transduction du signal à médiation G-protéique.
